DESCRIPTION

Lowplat Plus is a fixed-dose bi-layered combination containing Clopidogrel and Enteric Coated Aspirin. Clopidogrel bisulfate is a thienopyridine class inhibitor of P2Y12 ADP platelet receptors used as a platelet aggregation inhibitor (anti-platelet agent). Chemically it is methyl (+)-(S)-α-(2-chlorophenyl)-6,7-dihydrothieno[3,2-c]pyridine-5(4H)¬acetate sulfate (1:1). The molecular formula of clopidogrel bisulfate is C16H16ClNO2 S•H2 SO4 . Aspirin [acetylsalicylic acid (ASA)] is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug indicated to reduce the risk of death and myocardial infarction (MI) in patients with chronic coronary artery disease, such as patients with a history of MI or unstable angina pectoris or with chronic stable angina and to reduce the risk of death and recurrent stroke in patients who have had an ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack
