DESCRIPTION

Montelukast sodium is selective leukotriene receptor antagonist which inhibits the cysteine leukotriene CysLT 1 receptor. Montelukast sodium is described chemically as [R-(E)]-1-[[[1-[3-[2-(7-chloro-2-quinolinyl) ethenyl]phenyl]-3-[2-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)phenyl] propyl]thio] methyl]cyclopropaneacetic acid, monosodium salt. The empirical formula is C35H35Cl NNaO3 S, and its molecular weight is 608.18.
